K Leisure Scoops Four Quality Awards
Kildare’s leisure facilities were recognised when K Leisure and its facilities at Naas and Athy were honoured at the annual ILAM National White Flag Award ball recently. At the ball, which took place in the Burlington Hotel in Dublin, each facility was awarded the White Flag for Leisure. Both facilities had been picked from over 100 leisure facilities nationwide to be placed on a shortlist of eight finalists in the Disability Provision Category. They each were awarded a silver medal in this area – which is a huge achievement given that only three facilities received a higher mark.

To receive the White Flags, the two facilities in Athy and Naas were independently audited during 2009. This involved looking at all areas of operation including pool water quality, customer service, hygiene, pool lifeguarding arrangement, and gym supervision. The White Flag Award is the national quality award that all leisure facilities must strive to achieve, and highlights to the customers, staff and the general public that the organisation is committed to achieving the highest standards of quality in the Leisure Industry. CEO of K Leisure, Susan Grady, said that staff and management at both facilities were delighted with the achievement of the award after only a short time in operation. She added that the future bodes well for each facility and their customers, who must be delighted to see the commitment to quality and service by staff and the management of both facilities.
