MEMBERSHIP CONDITIONS

Memberships are designed to give you, the customer the opportunity to pay for use of K Leisure facilities by direct debit or upfront payment. There are a number of categories of memberships which give you benefits as follows:

 

COUPLE/JOINT MEMBERSHIP

This gives two customers the opportunity to jointly purchase memberships. The primary will make all Direct Debit payments from their bank account. Each member will receive an individual membership card. If the primary member fails to make the monthly payment, both memberships will be withdrawn. All changes to the membership must be made by the primary member.

 

STUDENT MEMBERSHIP

To qualify for student membership you must be aged between 16 years and 23 years, or be enrolled in full-time education programmes. Part-time and professional education programmes are not valid for a Student membership Production of a valid student ID card is required.

 

CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP

This entitles groups of 5 or more people from the same organisation to take out a membership with corporate rates. All members are required to be enrolled in a corporate programme, as opposed to 5 people from a company being ordinary members. If your company has 5 members please contact us to enrol in the corporate membership scheme.

 

CHILD MEMBERSHIP

To qualify for child membership you must be aged between 3 and 15. Child memberships are only available when linked to an adult membership. All children aged under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult on the pool deck, and children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult in the water unless the child is participating in a swimming lesson.

 

GENERAL FITNESS/SCREENING REPORT:

If you answer yes to any of the following we strongly advise you to book a free fitness assessment prior to training in K Leisure

  • history or family history of heart disease
  • high blood pressure or medicated for the same
  • smoking habit
  • diabetes/Mellitus
  • high cholesterol
  • asthma/respiratory disease
  • recent surgery
  • chronic disease
  • pregnancy within the last 3 months
  • back, joint or muscle disorder
  • incidents of seizure, blackout or fainting
  • taking any medication or substance
  • more than 20lbs overweight

Members are requested to accept responsibility for their personal, medical and physical condition in order to take part in K Leisure activities including the use of the gym and gym equipment, swimming, sauna and steam rooms. Any assessment undertaken in the facility is for general information only with a view to giving advice and should not be relied on by members as certifying their fitness or otherwise to the facilities or equipment.

K leisure advises all members to consult with their doctor prior to beginning a programme of physical exercise.

 

MINIMUM AGE POLICY

Access to the gym is for those aged 16 years and above.

Access to group fitness classes is for those aged 15 years and above. Children aged 15 must be accompanied in each class by and adult.

 

CANCELLATION POLICIES

We require 28 days written (email or letter) notification of your intention to cancel a monthly membership.

We require a minimum of 4 hours notice to cancel a fitness class booking. Class booking can be self-managed through the online booking portal.

 

REFUND POLICY

A refund for non-use of membership will not be granted under any circumstances. In circumstances where a member has been advised to cease fitness activity by a medical professional we can review a request for refund if it accompanied by a medical note. Any request for a medical refund can be made to the manager via email to athy@kildareleisure.ie, naas@kildareleisure.ie, or newbridge@kildareleisure.ie.

 

RETURNS POLICY

Any product bought at K Leisure that is faulty should be returned with a valid receipt as proof of purchase.

This should be done at the site the product was purchased at. Swimwear and accessories cannot be returned for hygiene reasons so please ensure you select the correct size clothing or accessory prior to purchase.

 

MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT

Fitness Classes

All group fitness class listed in the group fitness timetables can be picked up at the facility or online. Gym & Pool membership includes the cost of all fitness classes and will allow you to book classes in advance. Aquafit classes are included in pool membership. Classes are available for persons aged over 16 years only unless otherwise stated. 24 hours notice is required to cancel a class booking. K leisure reserves the right to withdraw booking privileges if you fail to give the required notice to cancel a class.

Swimming Pool Use

All users of the swimming pool must use the showers before entering the pool. Swim caps must be worn. No outdoor footwear is permitted on the pool deck. Swimmers are encouraged to wear pool flip flops on the pool deck.

Sauna and Steam Rooms

Over 16’s only are permitted entry to this area. Please read the user guidelines for each facility before use. No shaving permitted in either area.

Gym and Aerobic Studio

A list of rules and regulations are in place in each of these areas, members must agree to comply with the regulations in each area.

Membership Freeze Option

You can freeze your membership for a minimum of two months up to a maximum of twelve months upon production of a medical certificate. Direct debit members can only freeze from the 1st of the month and for whole months. Suspension of your membership can only be granted with a prior written request from the member and approval from the management. Periods of non-use of the facilities cannot be back-dated under any circumstances.

Direct Debit

Payments on the monthly direct debit payment option are due regardless of usage. Direct debit paying members agree to a minimum 1 month full calendar month commitment. Each unpaid direct debit will be charged an administration fee of €7 by K Leisure (please note your bank may apply an unpaid direct debit fee as well). This contract automatically renews on a month to month basis after the minimum period of 1 month. We require 28 days written notification of your intention to cancel a direct debit membership. Please note we cannot part bill a month, if your next billing date falls within your notice period you will be billed for the next full month and have full access to the clubs until the end of that month.

Termination of Membership

Management reserve the right to terminate any membership for violation of any rules or regulations of the club or for conduct deemed by the management to be detrimental to the welfare, good order or character of the facility or its members and users.

Transfer of Membership

Annual Membership may not be transferred or assigned to another person. Membership deposits and fees are not refundable under any circumstances.

Health Screening

The member acknowledges that he/she is in good health and is not suffering from any illness or disease. The facility health screening status questionnaire must be completed and signed by all members in advance of using the facility.

Membership Card

Your membership card permits you to enter to the facility to the areas assigned to your membership type. Under no circumstance may you permit any other person to use your card to gain entrance to the facility. Abuse of membership cards will result in membership termination. Lost cards are replaced at a cost of €5 per card.

Food and Drink

Food or drink is not permitted in any of the activity areas of the facility. Chewing gum is strictly prohibited.

Mobile Phones, Cameras and Recording Equipment

Mobile phones are strictly banned in the changing rooms and activity areas of the facility. Cameras and recording equipment is strictly prohibited in all areas of the facility. Please respect other members right to privacy and to workout without being recorded or photographed.

Lockers

Lockers must be used by all members to secure belongings. The member acknowledges that the facility will not be responsible for the loss of any personal items or damage to personal property, either on the facility or in the facility car parking areas.

Personal Liability

The member acknowledges that the facility accepts no liability whatsoever for any personal injury or damage sustained by the member while he/she is using the facility premises, or parking areas.

Repairs

The facility management will use its best endeavours to ensure that all facilities, apparatus and equipment are maintained in working order but accepts no responsibility to the member for failure or breakdown of any equipment or apparatus however caused.

Disputes

In the event of any dispute arising between a member of the facility and the management of the facility, the decision of the management will be final.

Amendments

The management reserves the right to amend and add to these conditions of membership rules as it sees fit and the member shall observe any amended or additional conditions or rules so made.

On joining the member automatically accepts and agrees to be bound by these conditions of membership;

I will use the facilities of K Leisure entirely at my own risk and the said facility shall have no liability whatsoever, whether in tort or in contract, for any loss, injury for damage howsoever sustained by me. I accept full responsibility for my own use of any and all of the facilities, appliances, privilege or service whatsoever at my own risk and indemnify and hold harmless the facility, its directors, officers, employees, representatives, agents or lessors from any and all loss, claim, injury damage or liability sustained or incurred by me or my property howsoever caused.

I further acknowledge that I have carefully read and understand the rules and regulations of the facility and hereby undertake to abide by the same.

I further understand that the terms of this agreement are to be read in conjunction with and in addition to the rules and regulations of the facility and in the event of any conflict between the above-mentioned terms and rules and regulations, the terms of this membership agreement shall prevail.
